Student Seminars

The goal of T.R.E.E. conference every year is to engage students in a meaningful way. To accomplish this goal we cater a variety of seminars and workshops to conference attendees. Organizations hosting seminars will present information about higher education in a way where students can apply what they learned into their daily lives. Each and every year there is new and innovative seminars that students are able to attend. Below are some of the traditional seminars that T.R.E.E Conference hosts each year.

College Admissions & Financial Aid

Topics such as the application process and the financial aid / scholarship processes will be discussed. Although the conference is hosted on the OU campus, we are aware that some students may have desires to attend other universities, which is why the topics can apply to any university.

College Fair

At the college fair, students in attendance will have the opportunity to visit with several universities and colleges from across the state of Oklahoma as well as various departments and student organizations from the University of Oklahoma. Recruiters will have the opportunity to inform students of their admissions processes, available scholarships, different majors offered, etc. Students at the conference will have access to informative materials and a clearer understanding of which universities best fit their needs.

Financial decisions are even more crucial after graduating high school. Before graduation, students haven’t gained the financial experience necessary to carve confident decision-making skills in order to be proficient. The seminar will provide an appropriate measure of information and knowledge on handling finances and budgeting money in accommodating for college students.

Counselor Seminars

Beginning in 2014, the T.R.E.E Conference Committee began offering seminars specific to counselors. Because of their success, we are introducing a new set of workshops this year offering a new perspective to the returning counselors.

Post-Graduation Alternatives

Hosted by ResCare Workforce Services

We understand that colleges and universities are not the only options available to students post graduation that is why we are providing counselors with the resources to help students interested in pursuing technical school or the workforce upon graduating from high school. Counselors are encouraged to explore all post graduation options with their students.

Explaining Financial Aid

Hosted by Enrollment and Student Financial Services

For many first generation college students, the main source of information regarding financial aid will be through their high school counselors. In order to provide students with meaningful information, counselors will be provided with information to aid them in identifying their student’s academic and financial goals.
